The recent IDPF Digital Book 2015 conference at BookExpo America 2015 was another successful instalment of IDPF's flagship annual event. Nearly 1,000 attendees gathered in New York City's Javits Center Special Events Hall on May 27 for the opening plenary, which for the first time was part of the opening day of BEA itself.
This years theme of "putting readers first" resonated with attendees, who were stimulated by insights from keynote speakers including both industry leaders such as Bloomsbury CEO Richard Charkin and voices from the broader worlds of digital content and commerce such as noted video game expert Jane McGonigal. Over the full two-day conference, 34 sessions featured over 80 speakers and panelists. The BISG Making Information Pay track on the afternoon of May 28 closed the overall IDPF Digital Book conference with a session on innovation - justly underscoring both the challenges and opportunities facing the publishing industry as we wrestle with the implications of the next stages of evolution of digital content and digital reading. Stay tuned for more soon about future IDPF events including IDPF Digital Book 2016 during BEA 2016 Chicago.
